Your dollars provide education and support to at-risk families

The 2025 Star Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Braden Keith. He has served on the FRC board since 2023 and chairs our Marketing Committee. Braden is a local small business owner and has donated his technical abilities to revamp our website and grow our social media presence.

As chair of the Marketing Committee, he has brought more structure to our efforts and positioned us to tell our story more effectively. He created our first ever branding guide and has helped provide direction to marketing efforts—all key to effective fundraising. He also helped the FRC streamline our online workspace in the last year, resulting in substantial savings for the Center.

Braden is thoughtful, compassionate, easy to talk with, dependable, and focused. He sees the big picture and is committed to children and families. He has been instrumental in recruiting other talent to our board.

About this award: The Star Volunteer Award was created in 2003 by the Family Resource Center as a way to recognize individuals for their commitment to our mission to prevent child abuse and neglect. Named in honor of the first recipient, Rep. Katie Dempsey, this is the highest recognition conveyed upon an Exchange Club Family Resource Center volunteer. Individuals with outstanding volunteer efforts on behalf of the Family Resource Center are nominated annually by their peers and selected by a committee.

Who we are

We provide transformative in-home education and support to Floyd and Polk County families, empowering them to create safe, stable and nurturing homes so that their children can grow and thrive.
The Family Resource Center is thrilled to announce our new Board President, Chase Tolbert.

As a 2012 graduate of Darlington and a 2016 graduate of Mercer University, Chase brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to our organization. His expertise will be instrumental in guiding our mission and shaping our future.

Since joining the Board of Directors in 2023, Chase has demonstrated his dedication to our cause by chairing key initiatives such as the Pickleball Tournament and our Annual Partners in Prevention Campaign. Through these efforts, he has shown a deep passion for our mission and a commitment to our community. As Executive Director Tina Bartleson shared, “Chase is dedicated, organized, and driven to help make the center the best it can be.” His unique insights will undoubtedly be a valuable asset as we continue to grow and strive toward achieving our goals.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Chase Tolbert as our new Board President. We look forward to working together to make a positive impact on the organization and the communities we serve.
